Susanne Ellen Kirchesch, soprano
born in Essen, Germany, studied at the Hochschule für Musik "Hanns Eisler" in Berlin with Anneliese Fried and then worked with Thomas Quasthoff in 2006.
During her studies she received regular coaching with artists such as Julia Varady, Anita Keller and Wolfram Rieger and took part in masterclasses with Brigitte Fassbaender and Thomas Hampson.
The young soprano has won prizes in several international and national competitions ("Euriade Vocal Concours“, NL, " Bundeswettbewerb Gesang“ , International singing competition " Wettbewerb der Kammeroper Schloss Rheinsberg“) and was the musicians´- prize- winner of the GWK.
In May 2007 she is the only German finalist in the "Concours Musical International de Montréal", Canada, and wins the "Award for the best performance of the imposed Canadian work". Together with the tenor Andrès Félipe Orozco she won the third prize in the competition "face to face" in Poznan, Poland, in June 2011.
Susanne Ellen Kirchesch was a guest singer at the "Staatsoper Berlin", the " Opéra National du Rhin Strasbourg", the "Landestheater Mecklenburg" and "Opera Tirana", Albania. During the 2005/2006 season she was a member of the "Jeunes Voix du Rhin" (Opera Strasbourg).
Her repertoire includes roles such as Susanna, Zerlina and Pamina, Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Blanche (Dialogues des Carmelites) and Tebaldo (Don Carlo).
The soprano´s concert repertoire is widespread and covers cantatas and oratories by Monteverdi, Bach, Handel and Mozart as well as works by Bruch, Honegger and Zemlinsky and modern composers.
Together with the pianists Henrik Heilmann and Neil Beardmore she has been invited to several recitals in Germany and France.
Since 2007/2008 season she is a soloist at the "Landestheater Neustrelitz", where she sings roles such as Musetta (La Bohème), Ännchen (Der Freischütz), Susanna (Die Hochzeit des Figaro) and Frau Fluth (Die lustigen Weiber von Windsor). This year she will give her role debut as Rosina (Il barbiere di Sevilla) and as Gilda (Rigoletto).
For November 2011 the soprano has been invited to sing the role of Susanna in "Le nozze di Figaro" in Potsdam, stage director Andreas Dresen, conductor Sergio Azzolini.
Future planings include performances of Henzes "Phaedra" (role of Aphrodite) with the Ensemble Modern and the conductor Michael Boder.
